Who takes the challenge

We have chosen male and female swimmers from among our club members. The first verification was the quarterly June test at 400m, which periodically verifies our swimming skills. We invited 10 fastest men and 4 fastest women to talks. We also gave away 2 wild cards. During the entire next season, which we will devote to special preparations dedicated to the Cross Baltic Challenge project, we will verify the form of our swimmers on an ongoing basis. In November 2017, during a special test for 1500 m, we will determine the final composition of the relay, which will consist of 6 main swimmers and 3 people from the reserve. The rest will continue their training and preparation as the so-called “Wide reserve” in case of random circumstances. The selection criterion, apart from the perfect swimming instruction, which will be verified by the November test at 1500m, are also psychological features, such as resistance to stress, ability to cope with difficult conditions: coldness, dehydration, sleep deprivation, as well as the ability to act in a team. It is worth remembering that our players are amateurs who fulfill their passion in parallel with their daily duties related to work, college or family. Triathlon is a sport that requires the ability to organize time, self-discipline and determination. Undertaking such a test by people from outside the world of professional sport is a beautiful and very constructive example of the fact that there are no limitations in reaching the goal.
